Petrol Price Reduced, Diesel Cost Increased in Pakistan: Govt Revises Fuel Rates for Next Fortnight

The Government of Pakistan has announced new prices for petroleum products, which will be effective from midnight tonight. According to the Finance Division’s latest notification, the price of petrol has been reduced while the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) has seen a slight increase.

Petrol Price Slashed by Rs7.54

The government has decreased the petrol price by Rs7.54, setting the new price at Rs264.61 per liter. This decision comes as a relief to consumers who have been affected by rising fuel costs over the past months. The cut reflects adjustments based on global oil market trends and internal pricing policies.

Diesel Price Increased by Rs1.48

While petrol became cheaper, the price of high-speed diesel has gone up by Rs1.48, with the new rate fixed at Rs285.83 per liter. Diesel is widely used in transport and agriculture sectors, and this hike may affect the cost of goods and transportation in the coming days.

New Fuel Prices Effective from Tonight

These revised rates will be applicable from July 31, 2025, at midnight. The revision aligns with the government’s bi-weekly review mechanism for petroleum pricing to reflect international market movements and manage the local economic impact.

Conclusion

This fortnight’s adjustment reflects the government’s attempt to balance international price pressures and domestic affordability. As fuel prices in Pakistan continue to fluctuate, such changes will remain a focal point for both households and industries.
